A more thorough investigation of my likes, broken down by category. The most pertinent information is in my signup (along with my DNWs), but if more detail is helpful, there’s lots ahead! Feel free to disregard anything that doesn’t apply to what you’re creating, I especially love receiving gifts where it’s clear the creator had a lot of fun! This is all optional, so please don’t feel bound by any of it.
Likes: Hurt/comfort, whump, angst, sickfic. Casefic/missionfic, slice of life, domestic fluff. PTSD/trauma recovery, depression, anxiety. Disability, chronic pain/illness, neurodivergence. Arospec and acespec characters. Transmasc characters. Best friends, platonic life partners, queerplatonic relationships, ambiguous relationships, romance built on friendship, FWB that stays platonic. Nonsexual/platonic kink, sex for reasons other than attraction (for comfort, stress relief, etc). Cuddling, holding hands, hugs, forehead kisses. Hair petting, hair washing, hair brushing. Loyalty/trust, caretaking, characters bleeding and tending each other’s wounds. Suffering, injury, torture, forced to watch, something made them do it, presumed dead, aftermath. Historical settings (accuracy optional!), isolated settings, canon divergent AUs. Horses, cats, chickens, ducks, dogs, other animals.
Art likes: Everything! I’m most into an artist’s individual style and interpretations. I love digital and traditional mediums equally. Especially fond of moody, melancholy, or hurt/comfort art, but I also adore soft moments, happy moments, slice of life, etc. I'm always onboard with hugs, cuddles, wound tending, characters comforting each other, bed sharing, just spending time together.
My fluffier likes, which I am delighted to see in either in pure fluff or as comfort for various forms of hurt. I love characters bantering and joking and having fun. Regardless of whether it’s friendship, romance, or a secret third thing, I like characters being a little unconventional and doing things that an outsider would look at like “wow that’s a really weird way of expressing love” but it’s sweet and caring for the characters involved. Characters being not quite sure if they’re doing things “right” is much loved, especially when they’re making earnest attempts. I adore characters being loved and respected for who they are, without the important people in their lives trying to change them. I also love animals of all kinds!
Fluff and comfort likes: Non-sexual intimacy, being comfortable around each other, just hanging out. Slice of life, domestic fluff, relaxing between stressful moments. Holding hands, cuddling, hair petting, forehead kisses, hugs. Sharing a blanket, sharing a bed. Loyalty/trust, developing friendships, best friends, found family, romance built on friendship. Characters being sweet and showing care in unusual ways. Horses, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, snakes, pets in general.
I adore hurt/comfort of all kinds, from the gentler stuff like a mildly stressful day to seriously traumatic violent noncon. I love characters suffering and crying and having a horrible time, and then being loved and comforted. I really love chronic pain/illness and disability, both with characters coming to terms with it, and resenting the impact it has on their lives. Violence is always a yesss from me, whether it’s a brief scuffle or extended and brutal torture. Noncon is another favorite, especially with a focus on the trauma and pain of it. I adore characters being completely shattered and trying to pick up the pieces of their lives afterwards while their loved ones try their best to help and support them. Things don’t have to be totally fixed, and I love situations that cause long-lasting trouble for the characters as long as there’s comfort and hope for healing to some degree.
Hurt likes: Hurt/comfort, whump, angst, sickfic. PTSD/trauma recovery, depression, anxiety. Disability, chronic pain/illness. Sensory overload, sensory issues in general, frustration and difficulty regulating emotions. Characters bleeding and tending each other’s wounds, first aid, emergency surgery in not-ideal conditions. Suffering, injury, torture. Noncon, forced to watch, something made them do it, presumed dead. Aftermath of violence/torture/rape/etc, rape recovery, trying to put back together a broken life. Dealing with the aftermath of canon events.
Sickfic likes: Chronic illness, chronic pain, PTSD, depression/anxiety/mental health issues. Common cold, flu, random mystery illness, magical/sci-fi illness. Panic attacks, flashbacks, pain, fatigue, migraines, brain fog, sensory sensitivities. Coughing/coughing up blood, dizziness, nausea, fainting. Characters taking care of each other, forcing self to keep working (and making symptoms worse), protectiveness, comfort.
Gore likes: Whipping, beating, stabbing/cutting, restraints, torture, noncon, captivity. Blood, broken bones, burns, scars, bruises, pain, PTSD, disability, head injuries (especially with lingering effects). Forced to watch, characters volunteering for torture to protect someone else, characters going to extreme lengths to protect/save a loved one, killing aggressors. Defiant victims, victims cracking jokes/being sarcastic/otherwise annoying their aggressors, too weak to move but trying to move anyway, aftermath of violence/torture.
Noncon likes: Forced to watch, helplessness, holding friend/loved one during rape. Pain, injuries, violence, hair pulling. Object insertion, penetration, gang rape. Unaroused victims, forced arousal, forced orgasm. Crying, screaming, trying to remain stoic/in control. Defiant victims, mouthing off and making it worse (for self or others). Mutual noncon, something/someone made them do it. Comfort, reassurance, aftermath, recovery.
I like smut and/or kink mostly for the emotions going on around it, and for the sense of connection between the characters. I’m especially into it when there’s more going on than just attraction, and I really enjoy aspec characters having sex and/or doing kink for whatever reasons make sense to them (for comfort, stress relief, sensation, just because they’re curious, etc). When it comes to nonsexual and/or platonic kink, I love when it’s relaxing or stimulating for the characters. Friends having sex/doing kink delights me. I’m very open to transmasc characters, no preference on how they refer to any of their parts. I don’t generally have top/bottom preferences.
Smut/kink likes: Friends with benefits, sex being treated as just another fun activity, sex for comfort/stress relief/as a distraction from pain. Hand jobs, blow jobs, anal sex, PIV sex. Frottage, mutual masturbation, and other non-penetrative sex. Sex interrupted by trauma/pain/characters getting distracted. Accommodations for disability in sex/kink. Hand and finger kink, voice kink, heartbeat kink. Restraints, honor bondage. Body worship, scar kissing, etc. Sensation play, impact play, sex/kink as a stim. Characters bantering and having fun. Characters having breakdowns mid-activity and crying. Aftercare, cuddling, gentle touches.
I’m especially fond of aspec interpretations, but I’m also thrilled with other identities, queer or otherwise! If I’ve requested a M/F ship, I’m just as happy for them to be straight or bi, and if I’ve requested a M/M ship, I’m just as happy for them to be gay or bi. For ships with unspecified genders, I’m up for anything whether cis, nonbinary, or trans.
I adore aroace characters who have deep and important friendships, whether or not those friends are also aroace, allo, straight, whatever. I’m generally cool with an allo characters having some sort of unrequited feelings for an aspec one, although I like that to be the sort of dynamic where the friendship/loyalty is the most important thing even if there’s an extra layer of unreciprocated attraction. I also really enjoy aroallo characters, especially in friends with benefits situations. I like aspec characters doing things generally considered “romantic” or enjoying sex for whatever reasons make sense to them, whether it’s because they think it’s fun, because it’s important to a partner, for comfort, etc. I adore unconventional relationship dynamics like platonic life partners or queerplatonic partners, or also the sort of relationship that they just haven’t bothered to define.
I also love transmasc interpretations for canonically male or male presenting characters. For canons where top/bottom surgery makes sense, I’m fine with them having had it, or still keeping their original parts. I don’t really have a preference on what anyone has going on under their clothes, or what words they use to refer to their parts. I like both characters who are comfortable with their bodies (or mostly comfortable), and characters who are dysphoric. I especially adore stealth trans characters who are only out to a handful of trusted loved ones.
Aspec and trans likes: Aspec characters of various types, especially aroace and aroallo. Deep, important friendships. Platonic life partners, queerplatonic relationships. Any sort of secret third thing relationships, defined between characters or just implied. Ambiguous relationships, relationships that are romantic or sexual but a bit odd because the characters are weirdos. Friends with benefits that stays platonic. Romance built on friendship. Transmasc characters, stealth or otherwise. Transmasc characters trusting only their loved ones. Dealing with the practicalities of binding, not being able to bind due to injury, illness, etc. Dysphoria and coming up with creative ways to deal with dysphoria.
I adore characters dynamics where they're either different flavors of neurodivergent or just have different needs. It’s lovely when those characters find ways to support each other even if they don’t quite understand it. I adore characters being loved and accepted for exactly who they are, even if it seems like they’re being “difficult” or “unreasonable”. I adore all kinds of disability, from PTSD to physical disability. Chronic pain and chronic illness are especially loved. In general, characters accommodating each other’s needs is just one of my absolute favorite things.
Neurodivergence and disability likes: PTSD/trauma recovery, depression, anxiety. Disability, chronic pain/illness, disability from old (or new) injuries. Sensory overload, sensory issues in general, frustration and difficulty regulating emotions. Panic attacks, meltdowns, crying from frustration/overload. Difficulty tolerating change and unexpected changes to plans. Characters having special interests and hyperfixations, and getting a chance to talk about the things they’re passionate about. Loved ones being accepting and supportive even if they can’t quite understand. Unconventional ways of showing love, like giving gifts, talking about interests, and just sitting quietly together. Characters with different needs finding ways to help and support each other.
I'm especially fond of AUs that keep similar character backstory overall and add new elements to the canon universe (or diverge from it at a certain point, or change the overall vibe of the story, or...). I like to keep the current setting (say, Victorian England or Atlantis in Stargate) while doing something new with it. I generally prefer that the characters still have their original professions, although I’m also up for them having new things that they’re doing as well so long as they use their skills in a similar way. I absolutely adore canon divergence, either with things going better or worse. Taking a canon situation and having it go differently is great, especially if it results in more suffering or injury!
AU likes: Canon divergence, exploring how small changes affect the timeline. Canon events going better (especially for characters to be able to comfort each other or resolve conflict sooner). Canon events going worse (especially dangerous situations resulting in injury or more serious long term recovery). Eldritch/Lovecraftian, cosmic horror, canon but horror vibes. Wingfic. Supernatural elements, including characters dealing with ghosts, haunted architecture, vampires, werewolves, etc. Characters becoming/already being vampires or werewolves. Characters being able to shapeshift/having an animal form. Mental links, telepathy, dreamsharing. Soul bonds, soulmates (especially platonic). Steampunk, anachronistic fun technology, alternate history.
